There were five league games in area softball on Thursday, and the best matchup was in the Lehigh Valley Conference where division leaders Emmaus and Becahi squared off.
And, for the second day in a row, the Golden Hawks got quality pitching from Joelle Morey and rolled to a 7-1 win.
Morey shut down the Green Hornets on four hits and also hit a two-run home run.
Also, Notre Dame edged Northwestern 3-2 to stay in the thick of contention for a Colonial League tournament spot.
And, in the Mountain Valley Conference, frontrunners Pleasant Valley and Stroudsburg posted lopsided 11-1 and 9-1 wins over East Stroudsburg South and Lehighton respectively. Plus, East Stroudsburg North put up three touchdowns in a 21-5 win over Pocono Mountain West becoming one of many teams to register ridiculous offensive numbers against the Panthers this season
