FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES
Charlie Carty entered his sophomore year at Phillipsburg High School never having wrestled a match in his life. He finished his senior year in 1993 as a NJSIAA State Tournament runner-up at 125 pounds.
Rarely has an athlete exploded onto the Lehigh Valley sports scene with little fanfare yet left with such success.
Carty now resides in Tallahassee, Florida, where he drives a truck for Cemex, a concrete company. He has lived there for 11 years, since he left Kean University in New Jersey. He is single, but has family ties in the area.
