Allentown Health Bureaurecognizes children's center
Volunteers of America Children's Center has received a commendation from the Allentown Health Bureau, in recognition of the center's adoption of the bureau's Healthy Kids Healthy Allentown initiative. The initiative is a basic policy plan incorporating healthy nutrition and physical activity into the school day.
The children's center met all six criteria, including:
•60 minutes of physical activity per day, or 10 percent of program time with outside play being preferred.
