Bala Cynwyd, PA (February 20, 2013): Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK-FM and John DeBella (weekday mornings 6am-9am) are proud to present comedian/actor/Saturday Night Live alum Jim Breuer, performing a set of his comedy, on Friday March 1 at XFINITY Live, as part of 102.9 WMGK-FM & John DeBella’s Combat Comedy Series. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Philadelphia area veterans through the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Education Center. Comedian Vinnie Brand will open for Breuer at 8pm sharp. Tickets are available for $20 online at wmgk.com or for $25 at the door the evening of the show. You must be twenty one years or older to attend this event. XFINITY Live is located at 1100 Pattison Ave Philadelphia, PA 19148.
“We’re honored that Jim is the first comedian to perform in our Combat Comedy Series,” said DeBella. “He graciously volunteered to do a show to benefit Philadelphia area veterans when I was interviewing him during the 102.9 WMGK Veterans Radiothon (in June of 2012). I didn’t have to ask him to do this, he wanted to do this because he is a strong believer in supporting the men and women who put their lives on the line for our country.”
102.9 WMGK-FM and John DeBella look forward to organizing more comedy events like this one, thus the name Combat Comedy Series, with all proceeds going to benefit Philadelphia area Veterans.
With over 20 years of stand-up comedy experience, Jim Breuer remains one of today’s top entertainers. He was named one of Comedy Central’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time. He received his ‘big break’ in 1995 when he joined the cast of NBC’s legendary “Saturday Night Live.” During his four years on “SNL,” Breuer quickly became a fan-favorite for his original character “Goat Boy” and his dead-on impressions of actor Joe Pesci. Following his success on “Saturday Night Live,” Breuer starred alongside Dave Chappelle in the cult favorite film “Half Baked.” He has since appeared in the popular films “Zookeeper,” “Dick,” “Titan A.E.” and “Beer League.”
