Basketball fans have learned over the years that often what happens in the summer stays in the summer.
Teams that shine in the blistering heat of Cedar Beach often never get hot in the chill of winter.
But if this July offered any clues about what to expect in the 2012-13 Lehigh Valley Conference boys basketball season, expect a competitive, balanced two months ahead.
Back in July, Freedom and Parkland took turns winning the major tournaments, while Dieruff beat Central Catholic in the summer league championship game.
