Here's his latest nuggets, including the fact that the consensus among oddsmakers is that Obama will win re-election in today's biggest contest.
Las Vegas, Nevada (November 6, 2012) - from RJ Bell of Pregame.com
Presidential Election:
Based on consensus odds as of Midnight Tuesday:
Barack Obama to be re-elected: 67%
Mitt Romney to win: 33%
Some sportsbooks are even more pessimistic about Romney’s chances,
offering $350 payoff on $100 bet.
Although wagering on U.S. elections is not allowed in Nevada, many millions of dollars has been wagered online and around the world.
Weekend in Vegas:
The average bettor, who typically backs favorites, had an extremely profitable weekend
winning overall both Saturday and Sunday (NFL favorites of 4-points or more were a perfect 8-0 against the spread)
Amazingly, more than one bookmaker said “this weekend was the worst in Vegas history for the bookies.”
Hypothetical BCS Lines:
After talking to numerous bookmakers, the latest Vegas consensus is . . .
If Oregon played Alabama in BCS game, Oregon would be a 4-point underdog (down from 6 last week)
If Kansas State played Alabama in BCS game, Kansas State would be a 9-point underdog (down from 10 last week)
If Notre Dame played Alabama in BCS game, Irish would be a 14-point underdog (up from 13 last week)
