NOVEMBER 1 LETTER FROM DENNIS RIKER

Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Community Members, I am happy to report that as of Thursday morning we have power restored to all of our facilities. We are optimistic that the power will remain on. However, the news is not as positive from the communication and transportation perspective. Several major roadways will remain closed through the remainder of the week. In addition, as is the case with many of us, our communication network remains very sporadic. The safety of all of our students and staff needs to be a priority. Placing over seventy busses on the road, knowing there are closures and detours with no communication is not a safe situation. Therefore, the Nazareth Area School District will be closed on Friday. All offices will be open. It is our intention to open all school buildings on Monday with a normal schedule. However, families need to understand we may still have transportation issues. I ask for everyone to be patient and understand there may be transportation delays. At the same time, there may be areas we may not be able to reach due to road closures. Please be safe. Dr. Dennis L. Riker Superintendent of Schools Nazareth Area School District
