National Bowl Game returning to Allentown on Dec. 9

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER This is all from a release: East Preps LLC presents the 3rd Annual National Bowl Game returning to the Lehigh Valley at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Allentown's J. Birney Crum Stadium. The National Bowl Game is an invitation-only college football all-star game featuring seniors from around the country and the game is designed to showcase players to pro teams. Former Green Bay Packers assistant coach Mike Stock will be coaching along with other Arena League and professional indoor coaches. In last year's game, former Wilson Area standout and Seton Hill University product D.J. Lenehan was the offensive MVP, throwing the game-winning touchdown in a 34-31 final. Several players were invited to NFL camps after the game including Kevin Doty of Lafayette College who went to the New York Giants and Tyler Hendrickson of Concordia-St Paul who went to the Chicago Bears. Canadian Football League (CFL), Arena Football League (AFL), United Football League (UFL), and indoor football scouts were in attendance last year and are set for this year's game. Several NFL teams request rosters, player info, and game and practice film. The National Bowl Game will have a fundraising benefit as well. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Tommy Foundation to help its fight against Autism and a Zumbathon to fight childhood obesity will take place at halftime for people of all ages.
