http://lauranachman.wordpress.com/ FROM LAURA NACHMAN FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: THE BARKANN FAMILY HEALING HEARTS FOUNDATION TO HONOR FALLEN POLICE OFFICERS AT “HEARTS FOR HEROES” Join the Philadelphia Sports Community at Chickie’s & Pete’s on November 15, 2012 November 4, 2012 — (Philadelphia, PA) The Barkann Family Healing Hearts Foundation (www.thebarkannfoundation.org) will launch their Foundation at their inaugural event, “Hearts For Heroes,” on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 7-10pm at Play2/Chickie’s & Pete’s in South Philadelphia. The event will raise money for the families of our local police officers who were recently slain in the line of duty, K-9 Officer Brad Fox – Plymouth Township PD, Police Officer Brian Lorenzo – Philadelphia PD, and Police Officer Moses Walker – Philadelphia PD. The mission of the Foundation is to provide financial assistance to families who are overcome by the financial burdens caused by family crisis, long term illness or sudden loss of life. The event will cost $35 and includes 3 hours of appetizers, as well as a special drink package. There will be silent auction and raffle items to bid on, as well. The money raised from this event will be given directly to the families of these officers. Members of the Philadelphia sports community will be in attendance, posing for pictures and showing their support of our local heroes. Scheduled to appear, but subject to change, are former Eagles Donovan McNabb and Duce Staley, and former Flyers Bernie Parent and Dave Schultz.
