NFL Returns to the Top of the Ratings After Week One

http://sportsmediajournal.com/page/2/ The NFL has come out with its viewership numbers for the first week of the season and the numbers continue to be impressive. The league reports that a total of 105.9 million people tuned into NFL action the first week of the season on CBS, Fox, ESPN, and NBC. Its the third straight season that over 105 million people tuned in on the opening weekend. Also for the third season the league saw three games top the 23 million viewer mark for the opening week, led by Sunday’s Steelers/Broncos contest at 27.6 million. The Fox late game Sunday (mainly 49′ers/Packers) had 26.4 million viewers while last Wednesday’s opener between the Cowboys and Giants registered a viewership of 23.9 million. Viewership was equally impresive locally as NFL action was the #1 rated program in all 30 NFL markets.
