NBC Universal Sells $1 Billion Worth of Ads for Olympics- NBC Universal reports that its national television and digital advertising sales for the 2012 Olympics have reached the $1 billion mark. That numebr if approximately $150 million above the amount sold for the 2008 Beijing Games. Digital ad sales for London have exceeded $60 million, roughly three times more than the total for Beijing.
SiriusXM Radio’s Coverage of the Olympics- SiriusXM Satellite Radio will have coverage of the 2012 Olympics. SiriusXM’s Summer Games Radio channel will be presented in association with Dial Global which, in partnership with U.S. Olympic rightsholder NBC Universal, is providing live radio coverage of the 2012 London Olympic Games. Subscribers will get live play-by-play broadcasts of Men’s Basketball, the Men’s Soccer semifinal and gold medal games, the Women’s Basketball gold or bronze medal game, and the Women’s Soccer gold or bronze medal match should the U.S. team advance to that stage in either sport. SiriusXM’s Summer Games Radio can be found beginning Friday on Sirius channel 93 and XM channel 209.
George and Harrington to Join Andrews on Fox College Football Show- Fox Sports announced today that former running back Eddie George and former quarterback Joey Harrington will be the analysts along side host Erin Andrews for the Fox College Football studio show. The show debuts September 1st at 7:30p.m. ET.
NBA TV to Unveil 2012-2013 NBA Schedule Tomorrow- NBA TV will have exclusive coverage of the unveiling of the 2012-2013 NBA regular season schedule tomorrow night. The one-hour show begins at 7:00p.m. ET. Rick Kamla will host and be joined by analysts Dennis Scott and Matt Harpring.
MLB Network to Provide Blanket Coverage of Trade Deadline- The MLB Network is planning 20 hours of coverage of the upcoming Major League Baseball Trade Deadline. ”Path to the Trade Deadline” will be featured on MLB Tonight, The Rundown and Intentional Talk beginning July 29th. The coverage will intensify with MLB Tonight: Trade Deadline Special starting at 11:00am ET on July 31st.
CBS Has Canadian Open- The next stop on the PGA Tour, the RBC Canadian Open, will air this weekend on CBS. Coverage on Saturday and Sunday begins at 3:00p.m. ET. Bill Macetee serves as anchor with Ian Baker-Finch as lead analyst. Gary McCord will be stationed at the 17th hole with Peter Kostis at the 16th hole. Prior to the final round on Sunday Verne Lundquist will host Road to the PGA Championship, featuring the 45th PGA Professional National Championship in Seaside, Calif., where 312 PGA Professionals compete for 20 entries in the 94th PGA Championship.
