Events planned around the Lehigh Valley area

http://www.mcall.com/news/local/mc-lehigh-valley-town-0715-20120714,0,3245643.story FROM THE MORNING CALL LEHIGH COUNTY MUHLENBERG COLLEGE, Seegers Union, Chew Street, Allentown, will be the site of a town hall to educate Lehigh Valley voters about the new voter ID law at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 18. The free event comes in the wake of the disclosure by the Pennsylvania Department of State that almost 759,000 registered voters — 31,000 from the Lehigh Valley — do not have a PennDOT-issued driver's license or state-issued non-driver ID. Those voters are at risk of being unable to vote in the November election. Voters will learn which IDs are acceptable and how to get a free PennDOT ID. The event is sponsored by the ACLU of Pennsylvania Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter, Allentown NAACP, Equality Pennsylvania, and Martin Luther & Coretta Scott King Memorial Project of the Lehigh Valley Inc. LOWER MACUNGIE LIBRARY, 3450 Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, will host a performance by entertainer Claude "Shep" Shappelle at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 18.
