CBS Sports Network to Air Live U.S. Open Tennis and PGA Championship Program

http://sportsmediajournal.com/ CBS Sports announced today that the CBS Sports Network will air live U.S. Open tennis matches as well as produce a program during the PGA Championship. As a compliment to CBS Sports’ coverage, CBS Sports Network will air live U.S. Open matches during the Labor Day weekend September 1st through 3rd. These third and fourth round matches will be those not seen on CBS itself. The network will also produce a live studio show, Today at the U.S. Open, beginning at 10:00am.m ET during Labor Day weekend. CBS Sports Network will also televise US Open qualifying matches beginning Tuesday, Aug. 21 through Friday, August 24. “The US Open is a marquee event and we’re proud to extend coverage to CBS Sports Network and further showcase live action from one of the biggest stages in sports,” said David Berson, Executive Vice President, CBS Sports and President, CBS Sports Network in a press release. “This deal continues our aggressive expansion of CBS Sports Network programming around major CBS Sports properties.” For the PGA Championship the CBS Sports Network will produce On the Range, a program featuring player interviews, analysis and a preview of the day’s action. Grant Boone, Brian Crowell and Bobby Clampett will host the show each day of the tournament. CBS Sports Network’s PGA Championship programming also includes encore airings of CBS Sports’ third and final-round broadcasts of the 2012 Tournament, as well as classic PGA Championships from years past.
