Phillip Phillips crowned next 'American Idol'

Phillips, overcome with emotion, could barely make it through his signature song "Home" as streamers poured out of the ceiling of the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The two-hour finale featured performances by the top 12 contestants on Fox's reality show and songs by judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, with Aerosmith. The top five sang hits with their idols -- including Reba McEntire, CCR and others. Former "Idol" alums Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery were in the audience. The finale even featured a marriage proposal between former contestants Ace Young and Diana DaGarmo.
