Liberty's Judson Smull and Central Catholic's Jenna Kocsis honored with LVC Character and Sportsmanship Award

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER Central Catholic basketball and softball player Jenna Kocsis and Liberty soccer and track and field standout Judson Smull have been named the Lehigh Valley Conference Character and Sportsmanship winners for the 2011-12 school year. The winners are nominated by their respective athletic departments and chosen based on a variety of criteria including: wisdom and knowledge, courage, humanity, justice, temperance and transcendence. This is the second year that the LVC has given out awards in character and sportsmanship and this is an off-shoot of a still relatively-new 48-person LVC Character and Sportsmanship Student Council that meets regularly throughout the year. Kocsis and Smull were honored at the LVC's annual Scholar-Athlete luncheon on Wednesday at the Goosey Gander in Bethlehem. Kocsis is going on to Fordham University and Smull is headed right up the street from the Goosey Gander to Lehigh University. The LVC scholar-athletes in each sport were also honored.
