Atiyeh, Sigley, Umstead among the familiar names on Friday's MMA card

It might be a good Friday if you want to see local athletes participate in MMA fights.

P.A. Cage Combat has announced that Valley Fight Series IV is to be held this Friday night at the Rodeway Inn Conference Center, just off Routes 22 and 309 in South Whitehall Township.

Doors open at 6 p.m. The fights begin at 7 p.m.

According to a release, P.A. Cage Combat is a young promotion company that was started to allow local fighters in and around the Lehigh Valley to compete against others from all over the country.

This Friday's card, the release says, will deliver up to 14 "action packed" MMA fights

Local favorites include:

Adam Atiyeh, a former wrestling and football standout at Parkland; Rick Umstead, another former football and wrestling standout at Northampton; and Zach Sigley, who made his mark in football and wrestling at Freedom. There are a few more names you may recognize.

The release also says that The official P. A. Cage Combat Valley Fight Series IV after party, with Adam Atiyeh, will be held immediately after the fight at the Blue Monkey Sports Bar & Restaurant in North Catasauqua, PA 18032.
