One of the Nazareth Area School District's unions has agreed to a pay cut for the 2012-13 school year as the district works to balance its $69.18 million budget. The school board has also decided to temporarily suspend its planetarium program in an effort to close the budget gap.

District Superintendent Victor Lesky announced Monday during the school board meeting that the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union, representing custodians and other maintenance personnel, has agreed to give back an undisclosed percentage of next school year's pay raise.
