ESPN Classic to pay tribute to boxing writing legend Bert Sugar

This release came from ESPN earlier today. if you followed boxing, you knew Bert Sugar, one of the colorful characters involved in the sport for the past 30 or 40 years. Sugar was a regular on TV and in the movies. Sugar died on Sunday. He was a friend of Easton's Larry Holmes. Here are particulars of the ESPN Classic tribute.

ESPN Pays Tribute to Boxing Writer Bert Sugar on ESPN Classic


ESPN will pay special tribute to iconic boxing writer and sports historian Bert Sugar today on ESPN Classic with fifteen hours of programming beginning at 3 p.m. ET. Sugar passed away on Sunday at the age of 75. Sugar was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2005. According to the Hall's website, Sugar wrote more than 80 books, including "The 100 Greatest Boxers Of All Time." He also appeared in a handful of films, including "The Great White Hype" starring Samuel Jackson.
