Allentown Central Catholic High School girls basketball team beats Danville in first round of PIAA Class AAA playoffs

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Central Catholic's Kerry Kinek barely played half of the game this afternoon in the Vikings' PIAA Class AAA first-round girls basketball game against Danville.

But the Lehigh University-bound senior still did more than enough damage in Central's easy 46-17 romp over the Ironmen before a mostly silent crowd of 1,200 at Freedom High School.

The win vaults Central Catholic (27-1), the District 11 champion, into the second round of the state tournament where the Vikes meet District 12 runner-up Neumann-Goretti (20-6) on Wednesday at a site and time to be determined.
