Veteran coach Jeff Brosky set to get Northampton football job

According to the school board agenda, Jeff Brosky has been nominated to become the next head football coach at Northampton High School.

Brosky, a 1980 Central Catholic graduate who had considerable success as a player at East Stroudsburg University, would succeed Bob Steckel if he receives approval from the Northampton School Board on Monday night.

Brosky, who is a teacher at Whitehall High School, coached at Northampton before as an assistant on John Bendekovits' staff.

He has also coached at Emmaus, Central Catholic, and Whitehall and has been a defensive coordinator.

Last season, he was on Joe Henrich's staff at Bethlehem Catholic.

In talking to several area coaches, Brosky is a well-liked coach who has paid his dues.

According to the school board minutes, he would be paid a stipend of $12,744.
