SUPER BOWL PREDICTIONS

FROM THE MORNING CALL

Predictions for Sunday's Super Bowl:

Name/Prediction/The skinny

COACHES

American Football Conference Kyle Beller, Dieruff/Patriots 27-17/Revenge for Brady and Belichick, and two-week gap cools off Giants.

Joe Bernard, Stroudsburg/Giants 28-24/Defense wins championships.

Joe Bottiglieri, Emmaus/Giants 31-28/Giants defense and pass rush will be the difference.

Andy Cerco, Salisbury/Giants 31-28 (OT)/Giants are hot right now and finding a way to win games. I grew up in North Jersey, so I am partial to the Giants.

George Clay, Allen/Patriots 24-17/Brady shines in the Super Bowl, again.

Andy Coen, Lehigh/Giants 24-21/G-men do the trick and win Super Bowl 46.

Phil Dorn, Pocono Mountain East/Patriots 34-27/Brady will win this one for the late Mrs. Kraft.

Joe Henrich, Bethlehem Catholic/Giants 31-28/In the year of no defense ... the Giants defense is better than the Patriots and therefore will be able to make enough stops to pull out the victory.

Tom McCarroll, Lehighton/Patriots 31-24/Brady rebounds from poor performance in AFC title game.

Rob Melosky, Nazareth/Patriots 28-21/

Jim Morgans, Parkland/Giants 21-17/Giants front four will get pressure on Brady at some key times during the game. The secondary of the Pates is suspect and will have a tough time with Eli Manning.

Jason Roeder, Freedom/Giants 31-27/Think the Giants' defensive line and their ability to get pressure without blitzing is going to be the key.

Kevin Ronalds, Palisades/Patriots 34-13/Can't believe that the Giants team that I saw just a few weeks ago [get blown out by the Redskins] can actually beat Brady and Belichick.

Frank Scagliotta, Bangor/Giants 24-21/They have been playing great defense the last part of the season and playoffs. ... Plus it will make the Eagles feel even worse!

Steve Shiffert, Easton/Giants 23-17/Their big backs will make the difference. Eli seems very determined to prove he's one of the all-time best.

John Toman, Southern Lehigh/Giants 28-24/Defense wins championships and the Giants defense is playing well.

Joe Tout, Northern Lehigh/Patriots 31-27/Patriots are too good offensively to be beat twice this season by the same team.

Chris Walkowiak, Palmerton/Patriots 24-17/The Tom Brady factor: He is tough to pick against in big games.

THE MORNING CALL STAFF

Gary R. Blockus/Giants 27-24/ Nothing against the Patriots, but Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin hoisting their second Super Bowl trophy may finally make Andy Reid lose weight.

Tom Coughlin Ernie Long/Giants 27-17/Lightning strikes twice in five years. (Or coulda been the Eagles

Nick Fierro/Giants 30-24/the quarterback must go down, and he must go down "hahd." Giants have too many mismatches up front against New England's O-line.

Keith Groller/Patriots 23-17/No Tyree, no Plax, no miracle finish this time for G-men. Owner Robert Kraft will proclaim "This one's for Myra."

Mandy Housenick/Patriots 31-24/The Patriots will win because Tom Brady is the best, healthy quarterback in the NFL.

Tom Housenick/Patriots 27-21/Tom Brady miracle pass to Rob Gronkowski late in fourth quarter for payback on Giants' fluke win in previous SB meeting.

Bill Kline/Patriots 23-20/Just like old times, New England wins on a last-second field goal.

Stephen Miller/Patriots 30-27/The Giants will get their licks on Brady, but he'll drive the Patriots to a win with the clock winding down.

Roger Pence/Patriots 27-24/Focused Tom Brady wants his legacy to remain intact — and never wants to answer another question about Eli Manning.

Jeff Schuler/Patriots 27-20/Brady brings Giants' ride to an end and avenges loss four years ago.

Mark Wogenrich/Giants 27-23/Victor Cruz is in, David Tyree is out
