Fox Begins NASCAR Coverge This Weekend- Fox Sports will kick-off its 12th season of NASCAR coverage with events this weekend from Daytona. Saturday night at 8:00p.m. ET Fox will have live coverage of the Budweiser Shootout from Daytona. Chris Myers and Darrell Waltrip will provide pre-race coverage while Waltrip will join race announcer Mike Joy and Larry McReynolds for the call of the race. Joy, Waltrip, and McReynolds will anchor coverage Sunday at 1:00p.m. ET of qualifying for the Daytona 500. Fox will telecast the Daytona 500 on February 26th.
CBS Hopes to Continue Its Ratings Run With the PGA This Weekend- CBS Sports once again will have coverage of this week’s PGA Tour stop. The Northern Trust Open from Riviera Country Club will air on CBS Saturday and Sunday beginning at 3:00p.m. ET. Jim Nantz and Sir Nick Faldo will anchor the coverage. Phil Mickelson will be on hand to try to win two tournaments in a row. Tiger Woods is not in this week’s field.
Roach Documentary Series Continues Friday on HBO- The fifth episode of the behind-the-scenes documentary series featuring boxing trainer Freddie Roach will debut this Friday on HBO. On Freddie Roach will air Friday at 9:30p.m. ET with replays Saturday at 9:30a.m. & 10:45p.m ET, Sunday at 10:30 a.m, Monday at 5:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday at 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Hiller Next Big Ten Icon- Northwestern Women’s Head Lacrosse Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller will be the next person profiled as part of the Big Ten Network’s (BTN) Big Ten Icons series. Hiller has led the Lady Wildcats to six National Championships in the last seven years. She has been head coach for 11 seasons. The program, narrated by Hall of Fame broadcaster Keith Jackson, will debut on BTN Saturday at 9:30p.m. ET following the Northwestern-Minnesota men’s basketball game.
Extreme Winter Sports Returns to NBC- The Sprint U.S. Grand Prix – a three-day snowboardcross and skicross competition at Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah will air this weekend on NBC. Coverage begings Saturday at 3:30p.m. ET. At 5:00p.m. ET NBC will air the Red Bull Crashed Ice Netherlands ice cross downhill races hosted by Sal Masekela.
