Rollover crash on Route 33 entraps one; highway still open

A car has rolled over on Route 33 near mile marker 12.5 in Bushkill Township, trapping one occupant inside, according to emergency reports.

Initial reports about the accident came in shortly after 5 o'clock this afternoon, indicating that one car had rolled over and two occupants were trapped inside. However, one of those occupants was later able to escape the vehicle, according to emergency reports.

An officer at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Belfast reported Route 33 was still open following the accident but did not know if the entrapped person had been freed. According to the shift commander at the Northampton County 911 Center, units were still on-site at about 5:35 p.m. and the car had been cleared from the roadway.
