NED RICHARDS IS LEAVING WGPA 1100

FROM NED RICHARDS

Most know I made the decision to leave WGPA and move to a new venue of sorts. I will be moving to WALN Cable Radio and its own TV station! Over the years I had the opportunity to speak to some of the greats personalities in the busniess including Cousin Brucie. We discussed this venue and his part in Sirius Radio. He also said tv and internet really is the wave of the future. So before I re...ally get old I've decided to take one more shot and when its time to bow out - I will gracefully. I was told when I started this business by Joe Niagra, "be humble to your listeners for they will break you or they will make you." This is something I have never forgot. Teamwork in radio and TV is very important and that makes a "winning team". I joined a winning team years ago. They said WALN would never make it 30 years plus and it's still here and growing everyday. There is teamwork among all the personalities. So very imprortant to create success. Radio, yes we all have egos BUT that is what it is, but to control your ego is the secret to sucess. Some have said my ego is bruised but it is not! Here at WALN I will have the chance to promote the things I like: oldies, comedy, the less fortunate, and our community where we live in! I have done events in the past with Dream Come True and Camelot for Kids, where once again I will be seeking to remain. It's not all about money which some are obsessed with, it's about giving back to those in need, not for money in my hand but for those who need it.

Every station has bills that must be paid. Sales, like I heard today are a major part but unless you have programming, a solid format to sell (a major part) you have nothing to sell. I've heard about changes, yes where are they? When it's not promoted, how do you know? I have made the decision to changed to a new venue. If I fail, like some are hoping, I will bow out. If I succeed I will not brag about it but make it better and that I promise. I have left many radio stations over my years of tenure and had to move on. With each move I've improved and I will again. I will have a chat room that's real time without switching this and that to make it work. The equipment is the top in the busniess, which makes your show sound better and allows me to have ease behind the controls. We have a website that is tops and promotes all.

I have had a great time at WGPA and I've made many friends. I hope to stay friends, as this is the nature of the busniess. As stated previously on my page, I do not have that ego problem. If you choose not to be friends that is fine too but by staying a friend shows what your 'true colors are". I urge listeners to keep listening to WGPA. I hope it's future spirals in leaps and bounds forward. You have and will never hear me bash anyone, especially on the air. I will expect the same respect. I am more professional than that. I want to thank Ken Mathews for digging up the stations 2011 ratings and saying I did have the number 1 show. I was never told that!!! He said also keep that passion for the oldies and that I will do. Out of all the personnels that wished me well, THANK YOU! Those are the true "professionals in the business". Thank you Rick Hasonich, I wish you continued sucess. To Dennis Christman, Steven Capwell, Mark Thomas, Mighty Mike, Joe Z, Donna, Mike, Jarret Brown and the rest, Dickie Mindler and Jolly Joe Timmer: may God Bless You All and thank you! It's been a great ride and now it's time to move on. See you soon on WALN, The Party Channel!!!! Updates on times will be on forthcoming... ENJOY! We are only here on earth for a short time, lets make the best of it. Thank you!!
