Lower Nazareth Township man charged with assaulting girlfriend, police say

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

A 26-year-old Lower Nazareth Township man is charged with simple assault and harassment following an incident last week in which he struck his girlfriend's head against a doorway and the floor, police say.

On Feb. 16 Colonial Regional police responded to the Top Star gas station in Nazareth for a report of a domestic disturbance. When police arrived they spoke to the victim, who said she got into an argument at a residence with her boyfriend, whom she identified as Christoper Marcelino, according to a police report.

During the argument Marcelino hit the victim's head against the doorway several times, the victim told police. When the victim, who police did not identify, tried to leave the home, she was held there against her will, and when she tried to leave again, she was held down and her head was hit against the floor. She finally escaped to the Top Star Gas and called police, according to the report.

Marcelino was arraigned before District Judge James Narlesky and released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
