Four Nazareth Area High School football players to continue careers in college

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Earlier this month, the Nazareth Area High School football team announced three of its stars would continue their playing careers at the collegiate level.

Quarterback Dan Harding, the 2011 Express-Times Player of the Year and PIAA Class AAAA Co-Player of the Year, will be a preferred walk-on at Akron.

All-area first-team wide receivers Adam and Andrew Bridgeforth will attend Colgate and Slippery Rock, respectively.

Adam Bridgeforth was a Class AAAA all-state selection.

According to Nazareth coach Rob Melosky, four more of his players will be joining the aforementioned three at the next level: safety Kyle East and linemen Joey Walsh, David Wilke and Brian Brune.

East will be attending Moravian, Walsh is headed to Ursinus and Wilke and Brune will be teaming up at Wilkes.

Wilke was a Lehigh Valley Conference first-team all-star selection at guard, while East was honorable mention at defensive back.

Melosky said there are possibly two more players from this season's District 11 Class AAAA championship team weighing their playing options at the next level.
