Easton Area High School wrestlers thump Big Spring in PIAA Class AAA team tournament

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Easton Area High School stormed to an early lead and never looked back to post a 48-13 win over District 3 third-place winner Big Spring in a PIAA Class AAA team tournament first-round match at the Giant Center in Hershey this evening.

The win advanced the Red Rovers (20-2) to a 2 p.m. quarterfinal Friday against District 10 champion Erie McDowell, a 27-20 winner over D-7 runnerup. North Allegheny. Steve Spearman, a 2010 state champ, did not wrestle for McDowell.

Dyvon Gibson started Easton off with a pin at 160 pounds, followed by an 8-4 win at 170 by Jagger Miller and the Red Rovers were off to the races against Big Spring (17-4).

At 106 pounds, where Easton's Anthony Parisi was out with an injury, freshman Thomas Cisco posted a pin in 4 minutes and 52 seconds to keep Easton rolling along.

At 126, Red Rover sophomore Elijah Brown defeated Bulldog senior Devon Fraker, who entered the match with a 35-2 record, 7-1.
