Congrats to John Donmoyer on his 600th career victory

FROM KEITH GROLLER

There's not a finer gentleman in local sports than John Donmoyer, and not a more successful coach.

Donmoyer got the 600th victory of his high school boys basketball coaching career today when his Moravian Academy team defeated Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg.

Donmoyer is now 177-171 in 15 seasons at Moravian Academy after going 423-226 in 23 seasons at Allen, his alma matter. With the Canaries, John also won six District 11 titles, five East Penn Conference crowns and two PIAA Eastern championships.
He told me that he never he expected to coach this many seasons at Moravian Academy after retiring from Allen.

As long as his health holds out, expect Donmoyer to continue with the Lions who are now 10-9 this season and one win away from clinching another district tournament berth.

Under Donmoyer, Moravian Academy has qualified for districts for the past eight years and 10 times overall after qualifiying just four times -- period -- before his arrival. Moravian has three games left, needing to win one, to secure a berth.
