Brian Gilbert was approved as the new Whitehall High School football coach by the Whitehall-Coplay School Board just prior to a 7:45 p.m. press conference.
Gilbert's approval was listed on the tentative agenda for tonight's Whitehall-Coplay School Board meeting. Robert Hartman, the school's director of athletics, announced the press conference and team meeting to introduce a new football coach earlier this afternoon.
During his nine-year tenure as Palisades coach, Gilbert turned around the Pirates' football program earning two District 11 titles and a 61-43 record.
