2012 Daytona 500 Most Watched Ever on Fox

Despite multiple delays, the Daytona 500 paid off in viewership for Fox. In the overnight numbers released today, what turned out to be the prime time race on Fox scored a total audience of 36.5 million viewers, making the 2012 race the most watched ever on Fox.

The audience was 22% higher than 2011 and the second highest Daytona 500 on any network ever, only behind the 37 million viewer audience on NBC in 2006.

The rating for the race averaged 8.0, 8% lower than last year.
