More on the NFL Ratings Success of the 2011 Season- The NFL has released more composite numbers on viewership for the 2011 season. According to the league, 200 million unique viewers watch NFL action this past season. NFL games were watched by an average of 17.5 million viewers, down from 17.9 million viewers in 2010. 23 of the top 25 shows this fall were NFL games.
New Show to Hit the Airwaves on ESPN Radio- ESPN Radio announced a new prime time program will debut January 10th. Hill & Schlereth, featuring co-hosts Mike Hill and Mark Schlereth, will run 7-10 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday for the remainder of the NFL season, going Monday through Friday after the Super Bowl. Schlereth has been with ESPN since 2001 while Hill has been with the WWL since 2004.
CBS Sports Network to Re-Air A Game of Honor- The CBS Sports Network plans to provide an encore presentation of the documentary A Game of Honor, looking at the Army/Navy football rivalry. The behind-the-scenes access to both academies will re-air Sunday, January 8th at 10:00p.m. ET.
CBS Has Men’s and Women’s College Basketball This Weekend- CBS Sports will have a women’s college basketball double header on Saturday and a battle of top 20 men’s teams on Sunday. Game one on Saturday will feature Michigan State at #19-ranked Penn State (2:00 PM, ET) followed by #2-ranked Connecticut battling #3-ranked Notre Dame(4:00 PM, ET). The Sunday match-up has #19-ranked Wisconsin takes on #13-ranked Michigan at 1:30p.m. ET.
NBC Set to Air High School Football All-Star Game- NBC is preparing to air 12th annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the nation’s premier high school football all-star game. The game will air on NBC this Saturday, January 7th at 1:00p.m. ET. Paul Burmeister will have the call of the game with Glenn Parker and Anthony Herron as analysts.
Big Ten Network Looks At Its Member Schools Off the Field- The Big Ten Network is set to debut a new original series called Impact the World, which will delve into the work being done at Big Ten schools that are making a differnce in people’s lives. Dennis Haysbert will host the series and include 24 stories from all 12 Big Ten universities. The debut of Impact the World is Tuesday, January 10th, at 9:30p.m. ET.
Professional Bull Riders on NBC and CBS This Weekend- The Professional Bull Riders 2012 debut, the Madison Square Garden Invitational from New York will get air time on both NBC and the CBS Sports Network. CBS will have coverage Saturday beginning at 11:00p.m. ET while NBC will have coverage on Sunday at 2:30p.m. ET.
NBC Has Skating and Gymnastics This Sunday- Following the Professional Bull Riding, NBC will air the Progressive’s “Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular” this Sunday at 4:00p.m. ET. The program will meld World and National medalists from figure skating and gymnastics.
Off-Road Racing On CBS Saturday- This weekend CBS Sports Spectacular will feature the Lucas Oil Challeneg Cup off-road racing competition. The tape-delayed program (originally held on December 11th) will air Saturday, January 7th at 1:00p.m. ET.
