The Pius X High School football team has some pretty good motivation this offseason.
Not only are the Royals striving to advance further in the PIAA Class A playoffs and win a state title, but they get a shot at the team that knocked them out in the quarterfinals this fall.
Coach Phil Stambaugh released the 2012 football schedule on Facebook today and Pius X hosts perennial power Southern Columbia in Week 1.
The Tigers, who lost to Clairton in the 2011 state final, beat the Royals 55-25 in this year's quarterfinals.
