Three men who fatally attacked man outside Philadelphia Phillies game sentenced to prison

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Three men who fatally attacked a man outside a Philadelphia Phillies game have been sentenced to prison terms in the brawl that police said was sparked by a spilled drink.

Thirty-year-old Francis Kirchner, 37-year-old Charles Bowers and 48-year-old James Groves each pleaded guilty in October to voluntary manslaughter and criminal conspiracy in the July 2009 death of David Sale Jr.

Kirchner was sentenced today to consecutive terms totaling nine to 18 years and Bowers to consecutive terms totaling five to 10 years, while Grove was sentenced to concurrent terms of two to four years.

Authorities say Sale and a group of friends were at a stadium bar when they had an altercation with the defendants. Both groups were kicked out of the bar but the confrontation escalated in the parking lot.
