Nazareth man accused of stealing fried chicken, poinsettia from Giant Food Store

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

A 52-year-old Nazareth man walked a smorgasbord of holiday staples out of the Giant Food Store Tuesday in Lower Nazareth Township, police said.

Randy L. Erdie, of the 200 block of Hickory Street, had 79 items in his shopping cart -- including fried chicken, a shrimp ring, toy cars, dog food, playing cards, a poinsettia and assorted dog toys -- and several additional pieces of merchandise on his body, police said.

Erdie put razor blades, lip balm, soap and hand sanitizer in his pockets, according to police.

The value of the items came to $366.08, police said. Erdie was charged with theft and released on unsecured bail.
