Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal sold to Journal Publications Inc.

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Harrisburg-based publisher Journal Publications Inc. has agreed to purchase the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal, a weekly business publication serving eight counties including the Lehigh Valley.

The purchase, expected to close Dec. 31, was announced today on the newspaper’s website. The terms were not disclosed.

The Bethlehem-based newspaper will continue to operate with the same staff. It is currently owned by Brandon and Paul Eyerly under the business name EPBJ LLC.

New owner Journal Publications also owns weeklies Central Penn Business Journal and NJ BIZ, which covers New Jersey business topics.

"We are excited to add the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal to our family of publications," David Schankweiler, CEO and publisher of Journal Publications said in a statement. "We have aggressive plans to grow print, web and live event products in the Lehigh Valley to meet the increasing business information needs of the region."

New ownership of the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal will begin with the newspapers Jan. 9 edition.

"They already own business journals in multiple states and have proven themselves to be top notch operators," Brandon Eyerly said of Journal Publications. "Moving forward, we are thrilled that this transaction will provide our readers, advertisers and employees with a wealth of new advantages and opportunities."
