Buy tickets to see Coldplay in Philadelphia before they go on sale

Tickets for Coldplay’s first North American tour in nearly three years — including a July 5 stop at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center — will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Dec. 17 at www.ComcastTIX.com, www.LiveNation.com, Wells Fargo Center Box Office or by phone at 800-298-4200.

But you can buy tickets before they go on sale to the public.

Holders of American Express cards already can buy the tickets until 10 a.m. Dec. 16, by clicking on this pre-sale site: http://bit.ly/gMjVSb and entering as the password the 800 number on back of your credit card minus the spaces or dashes.

And, thanks to our friends at radio station WAEB-FM 104.1, B-104, we know another way to get the tickets: From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 16, visit the site and enter the password MYLO.

Tickets priced at $49.50, $79.50 and $99.50

The band is touring in support of its new platinum album “Mylo Xyloto,” the first two singles of which have received Grammy Award nominations. “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” is nominated for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song, and the gold “Paradise” for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

“Austin City Limits” will ring in the New Year with a performance by Coldplay in its first-ever New Year’s Eve special seen on PBS stations nationwide at 11 p.m. Dec. 31. “Coldplay New Year's Eve: An Austin City Limits Special” can also be viewed on demand on www.pbs.org starting at 11 p.m. that night.
