The 18,575-square-foot Bottom Dollar Food store has opened at Jandy Boulevard and Route 248, Lower Nazareth.
The grocery store, which is known for its low prices, today hosted a grand opening ceremony for the public, in which local public officials, community leaders and customers joined in a kick-off celebration.
The first 200 customers received a free Bottom Dollar Food reusable bag filled with private brand products.
As part of the festivities, spokeswoman Tenisha Waldo said the company donated $500 to Bushkill Elementary School, $500 to the Nazareth YMCA, $500 to the Nazareth Area Food Bank and $500 to the Lower Nazareth Elementary School in recognition of its support of the community.
Also opening today was a store at 1529 Broadway in Fountain Hill.
Bottom Dollar Food in September 2005 opened its first store in High Point, N.C. and has since grown to 56 stores in five states. With the addition of the three new stores, the discount grocer has 28 locations in the greater Philadelphia region.
