Bethlehem Area Public Library to host holiday events

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

The Bethlehem Area Public Library is hosting two holiday events this month.

A children's party is being held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the South Side branch at 400 Webster St. Activities include tree decorating, crafts, games and songs in addition to pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Each child will receive a gift. Registration is required at balp.org or by calling 610-867-7852.

On Dec. 17, the main branch, at 11 W. Church St., is hosting a life-sized version of Candy Land from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission to the game is $14.07 per family of up to four people. The money will go toward the library's Room to Grow 1407 campaign to expand the two branches' children's and teens' sections.

The game involves creating crafts and collecting candy. Santa Claus also will be on hand that day as well as author Robyn Bingham who will read from her book "Santa Came a Day Late."

For adults this month, the library is hosting a discussion of holiday mysteries by Mary and Carol Higgins Clark at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the South Side branch.
