Today we wrote about Michelle Marciniak's appearance at the Yasso-Rothrock Tip-Off banquet and now that we're into November, the high school basketball season is right around the corner. In fact, practice, I believe, starts just two weeks from Friday
The first big event on the calendar is the Yasso-Rothrock event on Saturday, Dec. 10 which will involve all 24 girls and boys teams in the Lehigh Valley Conference.
Your matchups for that big Saturday of basketball:
At Liberty:
2 p.m., Whitehall vs. Dieruff girls
3:30 p.m., Whitehall vs. Dieruff boys
5:30 p.m., Central Catholic vs. Liberty girls
7 p.m., Central Catholic vs. Liberty boys.
At Freedom
2 p.m., Allen vs. Easton girls
3:30 p.m., Allen vs. Easton boys
5:30 p.m., Northampton vs. Freedom girls
7 p.m., Northampton vs. Freedom boys
At Bethlehem Catholic
2 p.m. Parkland vs. Emmaus girls
3:30 p.m. Parkland vs. Emmaus boys
5:30 p.m., Nazareth vs. Bethlehem Catholic girls
7 p.m. Nazareth vs. Bethlehem Catholic boys.
From a boys perspective, the three games that stand out most to me are Allen vs. Easton, Parkland vs. Emmaus and Liberty vs. Central Catholic.
