FROM KEITH GROLLER
Darnell Braswell finally got his pro shot and he made the most of it on Saturday night.
In his professional basketball debut, the former Allen High and DeSales University star pumped in a game-high 37 points for the Jersey Express in their American Basketball Association. Braswell's big night didn't deliver a victory as the Express fell to the Connecticut TopBallerz 122-104.
The Express will have its home opener this Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Jersey City Armory in Jersey City, N.J., against the Staten Island Vipers.
It's great to see Braswell get his shot after he sat out last basketball season following an All-American career for Scott Coval at DeSales.
Of course, area basketball fans first got to know him at Allen, especially from the Canaries District 11 championship squad in 2006.
