Sunday's Game Postponed Due to Irene

Sunday's game between the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the Syracuse Chiefs has been postponed due to the remnants of Hurricane Irene. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Monday, August 29 at 6:05 p.m. Each of the doubleheader games are scheduled for seven innings and only one ticket is needed to attend both games. All gates will open at 5 p.m. on Monday.

"The safety of our fans, staff and players is of utmost importance to our entire organization," stated IronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes. "While Coca-Cola Park's field conditions are playable, there are a number of other factors that must be considered when making this decision. There have been significant residual effects from this storm in the Lehigh Valley, including power outages and flooding, and we feel as if this decision is the necessary one."

Due to the postponement, fans holding tickets to Sunday's game can exchange each ticket for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2011 regular or post-season home game or any April or May 2012 home game (with the exception of Opening Day). Tickets can only be redeemed for playoff tickets once there is an assurance of home playoff games at Coca-Cola Park. All ticket exchanges must be made in-person at the Coca-Cola Park Ticket Office (no phone or internet exchanges). Ticket exchanges are subject to availability. Fans with additional questions are asked to called (610) 841-PIGS.

Sunday's scheduled T-Shirt giveaway featuring IronPigs pitcher Scott Mathieson presented by Capital BlueCross will be made up at a future date still to be determined.

Monday's 6:05 p.m. doubleheader features a 2012 Magnet Schedule giveaway presented by Sacred Heart Hospital for the first 5,000 fans.

Also on Monday, there will be a Morning Call pre-game autograph session with select IronPigs players from 5 to 5:20 p.m. on the main concourse. Be sure to pick up a copy of Sunday's Morning Call to receive the IronPigs photo insert featuring IronPigs pitchers, Joe Savery and Phillipe Aumont.

Single-game tickets and group tickets for all IronPigs home games presented by Capital BlueCross, are on sale now and can be purchased at the Coca-Cola Park Ticket Office, online at www.ironpigsbaseball.com or by calling (610) 841-PIGS.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs are dedicated to providing family-friendly entertainment and are the only Minor League team to offer bubbles to fans entering the AT&T Plaza and balloons for all children exiting Coca-Cola Park.
