Cashier steals more than $4,500 from Lower Nazareth Township Wal-Mart, police say

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

A 51-year-old Easton woman was arraigned Thursday for allegedly stealing more than $4,500 from her register at the tire center in the Lower Nazareth Township Wal-Mart.

Colonial Regional police said Shelley Lee Baker, of the 100 block of Morrison Avenue, made fake transactions over a six-month period from January to June of this year. Baker would punch false customer returns into her cash register and remove the corresponding amount of money, according to a news release.

Baker is charged with theft by deception. She is being held at Northampton County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.
