Nazareth, Whitehall and Parkland won District 11 Class AAA boys volleyball matches tonight to join top-seeded Emmaus in next Tuesday's semifinals at Liberty High School. The best match of the night was Whitehall's five-game thriller over Freedom which was decided by a 19-17 fifth game.
Nazareth def. Liberty 25-22, 25-22, 25-20 -- Connor Swigart 36 assists, 10 digs, Galin Swigart 12 kills, 4 blocks, Tyler Karl 12 kills, 6 blocks, Kiel Houser 38 digs for Nazareth (10-7). Liberty 10-9.
Whitehall def. Freedom 25-21, 20-25, 25-14, 23-25, 19-17 -- Alex Fortna 15 kills, 31 assists, Bobby Spengler 18 kills, Alex VanNatten 13 kills, Nick Kuti 11 kills for Whitehall (12-5). Freedom (8-9).
Parkland def. Easton 25-27, 25-20, 25-23, 25-11 -- Ian Sundahl 17 kills, Josh Suppan 19 kills, Justin Lewis 10 kills, Reno Kriz 12 kills, Michael Lewis 54 assists for Parkland (13-4). Ryan Walsh 23 kills, Chris Roubik 11 kills, Ben Wolff 6 kills, Patrick Nelson 5 kills for Easton (8-9).
