Drew Hercik goes 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Nazareth Area High School baseball team past Parkland

FROM THE EXPRESS TIMES

Drew Hercik was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Karl Keglovits earned his second win in as many starts today as Nazareth Area High School's baseball team held on for a 5-3 Lehigh Valley Conference victory over Parkland at Nazareth Borough Park.

Hercik had an RBI double in the second inning and a run-scoring single in the fifth. He lined hard to center field in the first inning.

"I'm seeing the ball well," Hercik said. "That's the biggest thing. That's what you want to be doing. I'm locked in. I've got to keep it going."

Keglovits, who opened the season last Wednesday with a five-inning perfect game against Pocono Mountain West, allowed four hits and one earned run while striking out four in five innings.

Jordan Smith pitched the final two innings, also striking out four, to pick up the save. Shortstop Mike Garzillo had two hits and scored a run for the Blue Eagles (2-0 overall, 1-0 LVC).

Nick Rabasco was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Parkland (1-2, 0-1).
