FORKS TWP. | There's no feast like eating up home cooking.

Easton Area High School's wrestling team devoured the opposition during their homecoming at the Easton Wrestling Invitational at Easton Area Middle School.

"It's nice to be home," Easton Area High School junior 112-pounder Peter Stanley said. "There's nothing like home, with the entire half of the gym cheering for you."

Easton went 4-0 on the weekend. They finished off the sweep with a 58-3 destruction of North Hunterdon High School in Saturday's nightcap. Earlier in the day, the Rovers (7-0) walloped Pleasant Valley 63-3 and St. Peter's Prep 53-20.

The Red Rovers hadn't wrestled at home -- or even in Northampton County -- all season. They were happy to be back.

"I love wrestling at home, with the crowd and all," Easton senior 152-pounder Anthony Minotti said. "When you take a guy to his back and hear the roar, you don't let that guy up."

North Hunterdon senior Beau Vrancken found that out when Minotti finished a wildly entertaining scramble by nailing Vrancken with a cement job to pin in 1:37. It was Vrancken's first loss of the season.

"Scrambling is usually how I wrestle," Minotti said. "I scrambled around and took him, that's usually how it happens. I knew the kid a little, he's come to the Gold Medal club (at Easton). I was rolling through and I was surprised my arm was so deep into his, so I saw his head and I thought 'Yes! Cement job!' and I got it."

Minotti's was one of five Red Rover falls against the Lions (5-2). Mason McIntyre (171), Jose Rotger (189), Joey Rizzolino (140) and Stanley all grabbed six points for Easton.

"Everyone just feeds off each other as they go," Minotti said.
