Eagles stun Giants at the gun, win 38-31

FROM THE MORNING CALL

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — DeSean Jackson completed an amazing fourth-quarter comeback by the Eagles with a punt return for a touchdown as time expired, lifting them to a 38-31 victory over the New York Giants at the new Meadowlands Stadium.

Jackson originally muffed the line-drive punt, lauched with 14 seconds to go, then picked it up, stutter-stepped to make the first two tacklers miss, then found an opening on the right side and went 65 yards for the score.

The Eagles (9-5) trailed 31-10 midway through the fourth quarter, before Michael Vick hit tight end Brent Celek with a 65-yard catch-and-run to the end zone that was followed by a successful onside kick.

That led to another Eagles score, on a 4-yard scramble by Vick two minutes later.
