Lehigh-#Georgetown: Lehigh wins 24-7, nails down first outright Patriot League title since 2001

3:49 p.m.

It's over here in Washington. Lehigh wins it with a strong second half. Final is 24-7 and the Mountain Hawks are your outright Patriot League champse and they are playoff-bound. "We made it interesting," said defensive coordinator Dave Kotulski as he left the pressbox. LU probably wouldn't have it any other way than to have to work for it.

3:41 p.m.

Randazza nails a 30-yard field goal and all of that first-half worry is gone now. It's celebration time in D.C. Lehigh leads 24-7 with 2:12 left in the game.

3:36 p.m.

Lehigh kicker Tom Randazza recovered a fumble on the kickoff. Lehigh ball and it's run out the clock time. Mountain Hawks will be your 2010 Patriot League champs and they're on their way to the playoffs.

3:35 p.m. update

Lum to Spadola gets Lehigh to G-town 11 and Jay Campbell scores on an 11-yd TD run and that might do it. The 2-point conversion goes from Lum to Zurn and it's now 21-7 Lehigh with 4:40 left.

3:31 p.m. update

Another big completion from Lum to Wojdowski converts on fourth down. First down Lehigh inside the 20. Moving ever so much closer to the Patriot League title with 5:30 left.

3:27 p.m. update

Big completion by Lum to Alex Wojdowski. First down Lehigh at G-town 33. Looking for a clinching score with 7:40 left.

3:24 p.m. update

Another three-and-out stop by the Lehigh defense. Mountain Hawks get the ball back at their own 45 with 9:11 left.

3:20 p.m. update

Lum threw behind Zurn on third down and Lehigh will have to punt with 8:57 left, still holding on to a 13-7 lead.


3:13 p.m update

Lehigh just threw an incompletion on fourth and short and failed to capitalize on the short field. Hoyas ball at their 34, early 4th quarter. Lehigh still up 13-7.

3:09 p.m. update

Tremendous hit by Tanner Rivas stuffs G-town on fourth and inches. Lehigh gets the ball at the Hoyas 38 and will run one more play here in the third quarter. Chance to open up some breathing room.

3:03 p.m. update

After a 27-yard pass from Lum to Spadola got them to the 3, Lehigh regained the lead on a Michael Colvin 3-yd QB keeper. It's now 13-7 with 1:14 left in the 3rd.

3 p.m. update

Georgetown chewed up time and yards on a nice drive, but came away empty after missing a 45-yard field goal. It's still Hoyas 7-6 with 3:37 left in the third quarter.

2:49 p.m. update:

Lehigh had a nice drive to start the second half, but it stalled with a sack on second down and an incompletion on third down. G-town still leads 7-6, early 3rd quarter and the Hoyas have the ball.

Halftime update:

There is excitement around the Patriot League right now because the league title might not be decided today.

Georgetown leads Lehigh 7-6 at halftime. Lehigh, of course, needs to win to claim the outright title.

Lehigh got a pair of short field goals from Tom Randazza to take a 6-0 lead, but the Hoyas took the lead with 1:06 left in the half on a 9-yard run by Dalen Claytor to cap a 58-yard drive.

Lehigh has been hurt by three interceptions by quarterback Chris Lum, including one in the red zone. Georgetown's TD came after one of Lum's picks.

Lehigh has more total yards -- 204 to 109. Jay Campbell leads the LU ground attack with 44 yards on 10 carries.

Overall, Lum is 13 for 28 for 138 yards. Ryan Spadola had three catches for 52 yards and Zach Barket has three grabs for 20.
