Ex-Emmaus volleyball star Tiffany Orbin works for NFL Films (and sings about the games)

FROM KEITH GROLLER

On Tuesday I was happy to hear and report that Meredith Marakovits had a new gig with Comcast SportsNet, working as a sideline reporter at 76ers home games.

It will be great exposure for Meredith, a Central Catholic grad and former volleyball star at La Salle, who has worked extremely hard and deserves all the success that comes her way.

Another ex-volleyball player is also making her mark in sports media.

Tiffany Orbin, a 2004 Emmaus High graduate, is a production assistant for NFL Films in Mt. Laurel, N.J., where she lives.

Orbin (shown at left in an all-area picture in 2003) was recruited to play volleyball at Penn State, but attended New York University instead and graduated with a degree in film and television production from the Tisch School of the Arts.

In the past year, she helped NFL Films win an Emmy for Outstanding Editing for an Anthology/Series for "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cincinnati Bengals."

Most recently, she produced a piece for "NFL Films Presents" on Eagles offensive line coach Juan Castillo. Orbin traveled to Port Isabel, Texas, for the feature on Castillo and spent a considerable amount of time interviewing various Eagles, including Andy Reid.

But Orbin is starting to attract a following with her youtube videos.

Each week she recaps the games in the NFL with a song parody, replacing the real words with her own to describe what happened in each NFL game. It's really creative stuff. Orbin plays the guitar on the videos and shows off a good singing voice, too.

I think she's got a future. Check her out.
