VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

CAMP COMPASS, Allentown is looking for volunteers to help with its first annual Legendsfest on Sept. 19 at Legends Bar and Grill, South Whitehall Township. We could use help with supervising various tasks associated with a picnic-type fundraiser. We need someone who would like to emcee the event that has good microphone and carnival-type skills and is comfortable in front of crowds. FLINT HILL FARM EDUCATIONAL CENTER, Coopersburg needs guides to give tours of its farm 8:30-11:30 a.m. or 12:30-3 p.m. a few days a month to assist with school groups. Orientation and training provided. Flexible scheduling. Contact: Kathleen Fields, 610-838-2928, kathy@flinthill-farm.org.

HAWK MOUNTAIN SANCTUARY, Kempton is looking for outdoor-oriented people to direct arriving visitors to available parking spaces and provide basic information about the sanctuary. Help is needed weekends and holidays for five-hour shifts. A benefit of this task is that occasionally migrating raptors can be seen flying over the parking lots. PROJECT BLUEPRINT needs racially and ethnically diverse volunteers for its Minority Volunteer Leadership Program sponsored by the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley. This seven-session program will be held 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Oct. 27 and provides training to serve on boards. There is no fee for this class, but registration is required and the class is limited to 20 participants. VIA OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY, Bethlehem needs volunteers to cheer on runners, staff water stations, assist with registration at the Lehigh Valley Health Network Marathon for Via Sept. 12.
