610 WIP PLAY DAY

Remember when you were a kid and the games you played? Sportsradio 610 WIP wants to remember and relive those days with the first annual 610 WIP play day.

Play Day is a partnership program of SportsRadio 610 WIP & The Department of Parks and Recreation of the City of Philadelphia. Proceeds will benefit the Programs of the Department of Parks and Recreation.

Play Day allows everyone to relive their childhood days of glory on the various playing fields, black top surfaces, intersections and side streets of the Philadelphia region.

WIP’s Glen Macnow, Anthony Gargano will broadcast LIVE from Play Day from 10am-3pm followed by Howard Eskin and Ike Reese from 3pm-7pm. There will be many special guests featured at Play Day through out the day including: Phillie Phanatic, Ricky Bottalico, Keith Jones, Sean Landeta, Sonny Hill, Merrill Reese, Tom McGinnis, Beasley Reese, Chris Therien, and many more.

Play Day Activities will include team tournaments in:

Below you will find more information regarding each event featured at Play Day!

Team Competitions

Softball Tournament: Fee is $6.10 per player.
Each team has a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 15 players per team
Single elimination for 16 teams –
Co-ed – 3 Women must be in the field at all times
Each game would last 6 innings
This would be a each batter starts with a 1 & 1 count type of tournament

Individual Competitions

Home Run Derby
5 swings –
To be held on Ashburn field
ALL DAY Competition (9am-5pm)

1/2 Court Shot contest
ONE WINNER will be award a prize
ALL DAY – Open to anyone

HORSE Basketball Shootout
Single elimination Tournament style of play
Separate Male and Female Divisions
Age groups (TBD)

Punt, Pass and Kick Skills Competition
Compete in punting, passing and place kicking in a fun and engaging forum.
ALL DAY – Open to anyone
Age groups (TBD)

Speed Pitch
Radar Gun will clock the hardest throw
ALL DAY – Open to anyone

Fast Shot Hockey
